Compass Executives were engaged by August Equity backed Esland Care to source an experienced Chief People Officer for the business, to mature the HR capability in line with the rapid scaling-up of the business.
Given the varying support offered by Esland Care – chiefly complex needs of children and young adults’ specialist care – it was imperative for the successful candidate to have a similar background. As such, Compass Executives undertook a focussed, research-based search, also drawing upon our market knowledge and network of experienced HR Directors within the specialist care sector.
A three stage interview process, including validation by the Investor, was completed which resulted in a first-time appointment within 4 weeks of the process commencement.

Owing to a previously failed search, Clearbrook needed an executive search firm who had the knowledge and network to deliver a replacement at pace – given the lost time.
The successful candidate would be responsible for leading the business through a medium term refinance, before then leading the ensuing investment cycle – therefore must have had prior Private Equity exposure within an Elderly Care environment.
