Chief People Officer (CPO)

In October 2020, August Equity approached Compass Executives to source a new Chief People Officer (CPO) for their children’s residential care and education portfolio service, Esland Care and Education.

The new HR Director would be accountable for leading, and managing, all aspects of the people-based activity across the group – which included both children and young adults complex needs and challenging behaviour, as well as services supporting victims of sexual exploiting, substance, alcohol abuse, self-harm and enduring mental conditions. Key responsibilities would involve maturing the HR capability as the business scaled at pace, with the remit spanning Organisational Development (OD), Learning and Development (L&D), Recruitment, and Employee Value Proposition (EVP).

Compass Executives were appointed the mandate on account of the strong working relationship with the current senior leadership team, and the UK Private Equity House – August Equity.
