Compass Executives were appointed to source an interim Chief Financial Officer – which later developed into a permanent mandate – for Octopus Group owned One Healthcare. As a result of the successful Finance appointment, Compass Executives were then asked to source a Chair, six months later, as the original Founder was moving on from the business.

Owing to our sector knowledge, vast network of industry leaders, a strong track record within Private Acute, Compass Executives were mandated with these 2 critical assignments.

The successfully appointed CFO would be responsible for ensuring strong financial foundations from which a growth strategy could be realised. We required a candidate with a proven background in the sector who could demonstrate the ability to be hands-on, combined with strong exposure to private equity backed businesses.

Given the finite size of the market, a discreet search was conducted: for the interim CFO assignment, 3 candidates with direct experience in health and private equity backed environments were presented, with one offered the post. Concurrently, for the permanent headcount, five similar profiles were shared, all of whom were met, and a subsequent business critical hire completed.

For the Chair headcount, Compass Executives were able to leverage our own networks and presented an industry leader who it was unanimously agreed would lead the business. The entire process was completed in less than 7 weeks.
