Compass Executives: 2019 in review

Following the best year on record in 2018, 2019 has once again eclipsed all previous records for the Compass Executives team.

As part of Compass Holding Group, we were delighted to have been awarded the accolades of “Recruiter of the Year” at the 2019 HealthInvestor Awards – matching the same success from 2017. At the LaingBuisson Awards in November, CHG were also crowned winners of the “Recruiter Award” category, at first year of nomination.

Feedback from both events have underlined our market position as leaders within the independent and Charity health, social care and education executive search space. Hires have been made into both the Private Sector and Not For Profit Sector Practice’s, as well as expanding the Research team – with immediate impact. Our Trustee Bank service has generated a number of new Trustees to the Boards of various Charitable organisations – a service we offer at no charge.

Throughout the year, there has been a marked increase in the number of C-suite jobs being mandated to the Compass Executive team, as well as Board-level assignments covering Quality, HR, Commercial Operations and Marketing – sitting outside the traditional Chair, CEO, COO and CFO “C-suite” bracket, of which Compass Executives placed 24 over the last 12 months.

We are proud to share that 95% of all placements across the last 2 years made are still in post, and that 43% of our entire placements made in 2019 were women into senior leadership roles. The balance between healthcare and social care for all successfully completed assignments is 47:53, and 21% of all C-Level placements were Chief Executive Officer positions.

As we look ahead to the 2020 calendar year, Compass Executives have a large volume of CEO mandates across Children’s Services, Children’s Nurseries, Private Hospitals and Cosmetics; Chair and NED roles in Specialist Services, Dentistry and Children’s Services; we have CFO assignments in Education, and both COO and Managing Director positions across a variety of health, social care and education sub-sectors.
